Coeliac Awareness Week

Hey everyone, guess what?! It's Coeliac Awareness week! ๐ŸŽ‰ We're kicking the week off by telling you some interesting facts that you may or may not already know about! ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

๐Ÿ”Itโ€™s an autoimmune disease, not an
allergy, and the only treatment is a gluten free diet. Children and young people with coeliac disease are often branded as fussy eaters ๐Ÿ˜”

๐Ÿ”1 in 100 people have coeliac disease ๐Ÿคฏ

๐Ÿ”Damages the gut lining when someone with coeliac disease eats gluten.

๐Ÿ”If a gluten free diet is not followed, the disease can lead to nutritional deficiencies and other complications such as osteoporosis, cancer of the small bowel and unexplained infertility problems. ๐Ÿฅ

๐Ÿ”1 in 4 people with coeliac disease have previously been treated for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) prior to diagnosis of coeliac disease, so people with IBS should be tested for coeliac disease. ๐Ÿค’

Why not tell us about your experience with being freefrom? ๐Ÿค” We would love toย #ShineALightย on your experiences and hopefully we can all come together as a community and provide some or of support. โ˜€

Lot of freefrom goodies available on our website, foodsake.co.uk

Have a good week ahead everyone.
